9-12 Instrumental Music Teacher/Band Director

Required Qualifications

• Properly Licensed with Iowa Board of Educational Examiners for this position with the following endorsement: 
    145: 5-12 Music

Primary Responsibilities

• The Instrumental Music Teacher/Band Director provides standards-based musical instruction for students in ninth through twelth grade (Knoxville High School student enrollment: 450). This position supports student creativity, skill development, and appreciation of music. The qualified applicant will have the opportunity to lead a high performing marching band, jazz band, and concert band.
• Demonstrates ability to enhance academic performance and support for and implementation of the school district’s student achievement goals.
• Demonstrates competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position.
• Demonstrates competence in planning and preparing for instruction.
• Uses strategies to deliver instruction that meets the multiple learning needs of students.
• Uses a variety of methods to monitor student learning.
• Demonstrates competence in classroom management.
• Engages in professional growth.
• Fulfills professional responsibilities established by the school district.

Compensation

• Current minimum annual salary: approximately $50,224.00 with anticipated increase for the 26-27 school year.
• Placement on the salary schedule will be based on education and experience.
